About Medici
Half a century of Hobart pizza. Same fire, same family feeling, still going strong.
Our Story
Hobart's pizza, since 1973
Medici has been firing up Italian pizza in Hobart for over fifty years. What started as one little pizzeria has grown into a Tasmanian institution — two restaurants, a roaming pizza truck, and a whole lot of regulars who feel like family.
We still do it the way we always have: proper dough, quality toppings, and 50+ years of practice doing the talking. Whether you're grabbing a slice in the city, ordering in at Derwent Park, or chasing the truck around town — it's the same Medici you've always loved.

About Medici, answered

Since 1973. That is more than 50 years of Italian pizza in Hobart, now across 2 restaurants and a roaming pizza truck.
How does Medici make its dough?
Fresh in-house every day, on a 24 hour slow raise, then hand-stretched rather than rolled. Our sauces are made from scratch as well.
How many Medici locations are there in Hobart?
3 ways to get Medici: the city shop at 67 Murray Street, Derwent Park at 241a Main Road, and the pizza truck roaming greater Hobart.
What makes Medici pizza different from other Hobart pizza?
The dough. It is made fresh in-house every day on a 24 hour slow raise and hand-stretched rather than rolled, and the sauces are made from scratch. Medici has been doing it that way in Hobart since 1973.
