Looking for the best vegan pizza in Hobart? If you're ordering from Medici, start with The Garden. It's the pizza marked vegan on our menu, with vegan cheese and vegetables on a red base. The Vegetarian and the Shroom are meat free, but both list dairy cheese. Here's what to look for before you order.
What's on The Garden?
The Garden has a red base, vegan cheese, mushrooms, red onion, olives, capsicum, fresh basil and olive oil. It's listed as VG on the board. You can read the ingredients on our pizza menu before choosing.
If you like a tomato base with mushrooms, olives and capsicum, this is the one to look at first. You don't need to start with a meat pizza and work out what to take off: vegan cheese is part of The Garden's listed recipe.
Are the Vegetarian and the Shroom vegan?
They're marked V for vegetarian, rather than VG for vegan. Their ingredients are different, so check more than the pizza's name:
- Vegetarian: red base, cheese, red onion, olives, mushrooms, red and green capsicum, and pineapple.
- Shroom: white base, mushrooms, red onion, brie, cheese, parmesan and garlic.
Vegan cheese is on our additions list. If you'd like to customise either pizza, ask the shop to check the whole combination, including the base, sauce and toppings. The Shroom lists brie and parmesan as well as cheese, so asking for vegan cheese alone leaves more to check.
For a pizza already listed as vegan, choose The Garden. If you're ordering for someone else, make their dietary requirement clear when discussing any changes with the shop.
